I am now waiting for insurance approval! Few patients before me had the procedure covered so I’m hoping it goes through.I do have one piece of advice:
MAKE SURE YOU GIVE ENOUGH TIME FOR INSURANCE APPROVAL BEFORE SCHEDULING EVERYTHING!
So once you decide to have the transplant, you have to go through a pre-transplant evaluation. This includes various tests, including lung function tests, ekg, blood work, chest X-ray, and MRI. After those are completed, they are submitted to insurance for approval. When my schedule was made, only eight days were allocated for insurance to approve the procedure. This is NOT ENOUGH!
Hehe I’m saying this because:
- We rented an apartment in Cleveland
- my husband took vacation accordingly
- We organized things with my daughter’s school
- we packed all our bags 💼
And then BAM 💥 We CANCELED everything since we haven’t heard from insurance yet 😕
So now just waiting for the phone to ring with some good news 😀 ☎️
I’ve got fingers crossed you get the phone call soon🤞
Thanks so much Ali!! 🙂
