So when you’re going through a transplant, it is definitely causing craziness in your life, but you may fail to think about everyone around you 🤔What are they going through? It can’t be easy seeing someone you love suffer…

Hehe in my opinion, it’s definitely harder to be the caretaker. As the one going through the transplant, you get spoiled 🥰
If you have kids, I feel like they go through a lot. My husband and I have tried to make it as normal as it can be for my 6 year old daughter- not sure if it is working, but these are things we do:
1. Try to maintain their norms. Even though Corona is the worst, it has actually helped us. My daughter having virtual school kept her busy. We also try to celebrate holidays and birthdays 🥳 like we normally do!

2. Tell them the truth. I just lay it all out there. I don’t hide things and I tell her what to expect! We let her be involved in the process so no surprises 😯

3. Apologize. So I’ll have some days where I am so tired 😴 or in pain, and my patience just goes out the window. Then comes out MEAN ANGRY Veena 😡
Hehe it’s not a pretty sight! Whoever is around me at that time gets yelled at, which is usually my daughter ☹️ But then soon after I go back to normal and I make sure to apologize and tell my daughter about my pain. So now if I go into my crazy state, she just ignores it and knows why I’m acting like that! Same applies to my husband 😉
4. We try to make things fun 🤩
Fashion show, anyone?! Hehe we have fun trying on random wigs and hats:

5. Be vulnerable. It’s hard being strong all the time. You have to let those emotions out! 😭
My daughter and husband have the wonderful honor of seeing my breakdowns 😋
It doesn’t happen often, but when it does I let my 6 year old act as the adult! She consoles me and gives me advice ❤️ It’s nice to be the kid sometimes! 😋
6. Support And lastly, let them have their own support system.

These guys are VERY important 😉
Now one more week to regain strength, and then I get admitted to the hospital for the second part! 🥳
My heart and prayers are with you as my daughter is going through this process. Thank you for these updates. I look forward to seeing more.🙏
Aww I wish your daughter all the best! 🥰 I’m sure these are super difficult times! ☹️
Yes as you know. Thank you so much.
All of your posts are so so poignant, truthful, and humorous. But this one especially. As one who gives transplants, I can’t pretend to truly understand what you go through. But I try my best and hearing perspectives like this is helpful to remember your side of things. Keep it up, Veena. You’ve got this.
Aww thanks so much Stephanie! Hehe I like writing these posts, keeps me entertained through the whole process! I’m glad it’s at least a bit helpful! 😋
Her first appointment is next month. I meant to say she will start her process soon. Your story has helped me to understand a lot.
Let me know if you have any questions! I’ll keep trying to update! 😀
Thank you
