So I saw an urology PA for my bladder and one thing she said stuck with me…why are you NORMALIZING everything?
- In a wheelchair- so I can’t walk, but whatever, I’m going to see the world š
- Can’t swallow properly- but whatever, I choke while enjoying my yummy food, especially those cookies šŖ
- Incontinence– I have accidents, but whatever I’m a 41 yo wearing diapers
- Speech- I can’t speak clearly but whatever I will do podcast interviews
Hehehe so why do I normalize things? I just want to enjoy life no matter what š
If I didn’t normalize things, I would go crazy! I mean I agree there is a fine line. You can’t completely think everything is normal! You have to realize that something is wrong and while you are trying to fix yourself, you gotta have fun! š„³
This summer has been a blast! I’ve had visits from so many friends! I also went to Ireland with family.
So that is a quick update! I’m still going to physical therapy. And I’m experimenting with different things! If I figure anything out I’ll let you know but in the mean time , here is my podcast interview:

Hehehe in my head I sounded so eloquent, didn’t even realize that’s how I talk š
How do you guys understand š me?!
Veena,
You are articulate and down to earth all wrapped up in a box! I really appreciate the update. Yes we normalize things because otherwise we would go crazy. I am fine as long as I am just going through the motions doing my best but once I think about things, a.k.a. normalize them I break down in tears. I imagine Iām not alone in that sentiment.
Thank you for being our courageous and professional voice!
Ohh I completely agree! We have to let our emotions out, that’s why we have our support systems! š
