Hair Fairy

So day 14 after my chemotherapy(cytoxan/cyclophosphamide) I started losing hair! I thought maybe my hair wouldn’t fall out, but that would be too good to be true 😋
My scalp started being itchy and tender, and then my hair started falling out in clumps!

My husband, daughter and I decided to make a game of it! You just slide your hand through my hair, and see how much you get! Not a pretty sight  😔  but actually kind of fun to do! 😋

I quickly transformed into a balding Veena! It wasn’t pretty:

I wasn’t a fan of this look so we decided to cut my hair once my scalp didn’t hurt much.

I still looked funny, but I can deal with this more! 👩‍🦲

I was talking to my six year old daughter, and I mentioned how the hair fairy  🧚‍♀️ should visit me for losing all this hair… I mean she gets a tooth fairy, so it only seems fair!🤔
The next night I pick up my pillow randomly, and underneath it I found this note:

“Pull the hair Hair Fairy “

The hair fairy came!! 😮I glanced over at my daughter’s face, hehe and the little girl had a sly smile on her face…my little hair fairy 🥰

So things to learn from hair fairy week:

-2-3 weeks after your chemo your hair starts falling out

-Before, the hair falls out, your scalp is VERY tender.

-This process is EXTREMELY messy. Hair on your pillow, floor, shower drain. I recommend shaving it off before. If you wait too long, you can’t shave it off immediately because your scalp hurts so much!

-Buy cool hats 🎩 or wigs! Have fun with it 🤩
